Rules and Regulations of The Stars of Summer International Piano, Vocal, and Dance Competition and Festival in the Cleveland Cultural Gardens
1. Eligibility: The Organizing Committee cordially invites solo and ensemble pianists and singers of ages 5 and above, and dancers of ages 8 to 18, regardless of nationality, to participate in the 6th Annual The Stars Of Summer International Piano, Vocal, and Dance Competition. Applicants under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian endorse their application. Participants may enter the competition representing a school or as an independent participant
2. Entry Categories:
PIANO:
a. World Composers: Perform a piece from the Baroque, Classical, Romantic, or Modern repertoire, representing the diverse range of composers from around the world.
b. American Composer: Showcase a piece by any American composer from any era, celebrating the rich musical heritage of the United States .
c. Concerto 2025: Piano Concerto No. 20 (Latin Concerto-1st Edition-Arr. for 2 Pianos). One movement per application, accompanied by a second piano with omitted orchestral solos. Selected winners will have the opportunity to perform with the orchestra at the main event. Italian Composer: A piece by any Italian composer in any style, capturing the essence of Italian musical heritage.
e. Ukrainian Composer: A piece by a composer born or living in Ukraine, or a piece on a Ukrainian theme by any composer, reflecting the rich musical tradition of Ukraine.
f. Armenian Composer: Embrace the musical heritage of Armenia with a piece by an Armenian composer, showcasing the unique cultural expressions of Armenia through music.
g. Tchaikovsky Award: A piece by P.I.Tchaikovsky
h. Latin Composer: A piece by a composer born or living in Latin America, or a piece on a Latin theme by any composer, reflecting the rich musical tradition of Latino-American music.
j. MusiCats: A piece on the theme of cats by any composer and in any style, adding a playful and whimsical element to the piano repertoire.
VOCAL:
a. Classical (NO MICROPHONE): Accompaniment options include piano, orchestra, instrumental ensemble, a capella, featuring pieces from the Baroque, Classical, Romantic, or Modern repertoire. Note: For open-air concerts in the Gardens, singers selected for performances must use a microphone.
b. Microphone: Categories include classical cross, pop, jazz, and musical theater, using microphones and recorded accompaniments.
c. Italian Composer: Present a piece by any Italian composer in any style, capturing the essence of Italian musical heritage.
d. Ukrainian Composer: A piece by a composer born or living in Ukraine, or a piece on a Ukrainian theme by any composer, reflecting the rich musical tradition of Ukraine.
e. Armenian Composer: Embrace the musical heritage of Armenia with a piece by an Armenian composer, showcasing the unique cultural expressions of Armenia through music.
g. Tchaikovsky Award: A piece by P.I.Tchaikovsky
h. Latin Composer: A piece by a composer born or living in Latin America, or a piece on a Latin theme by any composer, reflecting the rich musical tradition of Latino-American music.
j. MusiCats: A piece on the theme of cats by any composer and in any style, adding a playful and whimsical element to the piano repertoire.
DANCE:
a. Classical Ballet:
-Head shot and a photo of classical ballet pose of their choice
-YouTube or Vimeo link of a classical variation
b. Contemporary and Neo-classical Dance:
-Head shot of a contemporary and/or neo-classical pose of their choice
-YouTube or Vimeo link of a contemporary solo
c. Pas de Deux:
Participants who wish to submit/compete Pas de Deux from any classical work

There will be 3 age groups, both classical ballet and contemporary dance
-Group A - 8 to 12 (Strictly prohibited to compete on pointe nor pas de deux)
-Group B - 13 to 15
-Group C - 16 to 18

Competitors must wear costumes to perform during the competition

Competitors performing solo contemporary work: no longer that 3 minutes

Competitors performing with a partner in the contemporary work: no longer than 4 minutes
3. Deadline for applications is July 29 12 pm (at noon).
There WILL NOT PROLONGED OR LATE FEE APPLICATION ACCEPTANCE due to the schedule of one of our judges
4. Competition Fee:
Piano and Vocal.
$75.00 for each solo entry;
$50.00 for each participant for each ensemble entry (e.g. Duet $100.00; Trio $150.00).
With orchestra:
$125 for each concerto entrance for one movement;
$125.00 for each solo with orchestra entry;
$75.00 for each participant for each ensemble with orchestra entry (e.g. Duet $150.00; Trio $225.00).
Dance:
$75.00 for the classical competition for each entry $75.00 for contemporary competition for each entry
$110.00 for contemporary ensemble competition for each entry
$75.00 for each contestant for the Pas de deux. Competitors competing in the pas de deux category may have a non-competing partner.
Please note: all application fees are non-refundable
5. Award Ceremony and Concert: The award ceremony and the Laureates concert, "Harmony Showcase: A Symphony of Stars," will be held on Sunday, August 24, 2025, in the Russian Cultural Garden and in the Italian Cultural Garden during One World Day Festival. This concert will feature all the winners of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes, as well as special prizes.
6. Additional Fees: There is no additional fee for participating in the "Harmony Showcase: A Symphony of Stars" concerts.
7. Early Submissions: Participants are encouraged to submit their entries as soon as possible.

8. Photo and Video Materials: The Stars of Summer 2025 reserves the right to use any photo or video recording of the participants performance during the competition and the Laureates’ concert for promotional purposes
